    And if you listen to any good musician, most phrases will usually end in Vibrato anyway.

    the vibrato on the root and 5th would be bending to the b9 and b6, which would sound God-awful.

    While "flirting with the major 3rd" via microtonal bending is certainly common in blues, it is quite common to end phrases on the plain ol' un-bent minor 3rd as well.

    I've attached a small mp3 of a few seconds of Joe Pass playing a 12 bar blues in G. Here we can hear, at approx. 8 seconds into the clip, soon after going from the I7 to the IV7, Joe ends a phrase on a Bb, which is the minor 3rd of G.
