    Nice take Russ !

I was wondering about that left handed upside down stringing thing that Thorsten does.. if I could do that (and play like that). I might have to take a weeks holiday each year travelling round guitar shops, acting "dumb" letting the saturday boy show me his licks, then picking up the guitar the wrong way (guy thinks "oh oh") and then blowing him away...

    hahaahaha, russ.

i like the word nonsense. Its good euphemism for "mediocre" or "not as good at THorsten". here is my nonsense solo. strictly A minor and harm minor. didnt follow any chords on this take.
Maybe i should work my self into a YJM mood, then see what comes out.

THIS ONE IS BETTER, LISTEN TO THIS VERSION OF MY TAKE, OLD ONE GOOOOONE!

It is only surpassed by the "Bedroom Wizard" fantasy.

This is where the player believes if he stays playing guitar in his bedroom long enough, somehow he will become the most famous guitarist on earth.

Pah, I moved on from that a long time ago.

...Now I am the "Front Room Sofa Wizard".

I discovered this thread a little late but JEEEEZ!! Some great playing!!
I gotta say, that though I don't play in this style much anymore, listening to you guys got me motivated, so I started to have a go the backing. What's killing me is that I just switched up to .011s on my strat and for this style, it's absolutely killing my hands!

I just took this pic 5 minutes ago. The lighting doesn't really reveal how BLACK my fingertips are!

Maybe after some coffee in the morning I'll have another go and see if I can come up with something "postable"

And again - great playing guys!!!!

    Geeez!!

That looks like hard work Russ!!

My hands look like girlshands compared to yours! (wimpy 9's i play)
I should try 11's as well to get more masculin callouses going.

Thorsten, my ears got litteraly shredded to pieces while hearing your version.
so much control and articulation - great great playing!
Hey maybe we can have a combined thing going on with ashc on the keyboards!! whatcha think? .
The three of us could have traiding solos, wouldn't that be cool!

    UKRuss:
as i p.m.ed already - i'm astonished by your shred-abbilities! double thumbs up dudepuppet!

couldn't hear the others yet, but looking forward to more contributions!

SeattleRuss! Keep going and shredding those strings to the ground, im looking forward to your take!

    LOL!
The thing is, is with the .011s, my picking doesn't slow down really but the bendy, slurry stuff does suffer a bit.

BTW Sven - Nice take on that track. As a certain Swede would say, you "unleashed the fookin' FURY!"

Actually, they don't hurt now. But they were starting to ache pretty good whilst I was shredding!

Speaking of pain.....wouldn't this be kinda cool?

Hopefully the "deathmatch" version of the backing track that Sven requested will be up tonight or tomorrow... don't expect anything too much of the synth bits

I don't know how many times you can decompress / re-compress / update the MP3 before the quality goes down too much...
