    PRJ Sokolich On Attributed Pythagoras 1:2 Music Proportion, and, Music of The Spheres

    Pythagoras... not one fragment of even only one writing of Pythagoras is extant, yet Pythogoras is credited by Pythagoreans for so many important contributions to Mathematics and Music: the 1:2 Music Proportion... The Music of The Spheres attributed to Pythagoras as expounded by Plato in The Republic Book X 416b made important observations, and anticipated others... the Idea - the transliteration... the Greek letters i, d, e, and a look almost exactly like minuscule, lower-case, small letters i, d, e, and a of the English ...Alphabet, from AlphaBet, from Alpha Beta, as does the word idea (reference the word idea in Plato The Republic in Greek, and the etymology of the word idea in the English dictionary: the etymology in the original Greek) The Constant Music of The Spheres... Music of the Planets... can not be heard by Humans because the "Music" of the Spheres, Planets, is of the Intervals, Distances, of the Planets, fully including all of the Music Intervals as you see in the Greek version of Plato The Republic Book X 416b. The Sun and Intervals of the eight Planets of The Solar System obviously correspond directly to the later-observed Music Scale of eight Pitches, the Scale, or Octave, composed of two Greek Tetachords, particularly the biggest Planet fifth from the Sun, with five Pitches of the Pentatonic Scale, the Black Keys, from Plato The Republic observation of five Planets. In Plato The Republic Book X 416b, Greek version, is the use of the Greek word harmonias, which, from Ancient Greek Music Theory includes a sounding together of all of the Pitches of the Scale of a musical Instrument after Tuning to demonstrate the musical Instrument is in Tune, therefore strumming the open strings of the Guitar immediately after Tuning, clearly cited, quoted, from The Republic Book X 617b, "...from all eight, one harmonia is formed". One could Scale down, Proportion, nevertheless, the various- and varying Intervals, Distances, between the Planets, and Intervals, Distances, of the Planets as Intervals, Distances, between each of every one of the Planets, the Intervals, Distances, as the Proportions of the Planets to the Sun for use as a Music Scale! ...as, for example, the Distances between each of the eight Planets - from the average Distance of each of the Planets from the Sun - as the Intervals between the Pitches of the Scale, or Octave... as, for example, with your Virtual Studio Technology Instruments microtunings of the individual pitch frequencies for your own custom Music Scale, Octave... one could even Tune sliding Scales, Changing Proportions, of the Intervals between Pitches of a custom Music Scale, Octave... in Proportion to Changes of the Distances of the Planets from the Sun, Changing Intervals between Pitches during performance.... The form of harmonias appears in Plato Phaedo, 85e. There are Greek Text editions of Plato The Republic and Phaedo online at archive.org. There are, of course, the meanings of harmonia as Tune, and harmonia for sounding notes together, sounding tuned notes together, then to sound the tuned notes together to demonstrate the musical instrument is tuned, and references of sounding the tuned notes together as the sounding of a Chord, demonstration of the tuning, to sound the Music Scale of the notes of the tuned instruments, variously, of various Ancient Greek Philosophical writings, as armonias, armonia, armonian.... In Translation, from Greek to English, of Phaedo by Plato, 85e, we see "...harmonias ... is something divine (metaphysical) of well-tuned lyras...", therefore, the Idea, or Form, of Harmony, Metaphysical, which exists above Physical musical instruments: the writing clearly describes the fact the destruction of a musical instrument does not destroy the harmony as the tuning... of the tuning... the result of the tuning, the tuning of the notes of the musical instrument, as tuning system of the musical instrument, therefore, of significance, seeming contradiction, and consequence to the Philosophy in The Republic, the Metaphysical Form, the Idea, of Harmony was attained, not merely attainable, and is not an unattainable Form, or Idea, the Physical, musical instrument, is more than a mere Imitation of Form, or Idea, the Form, or Idea, of Harmony. ...as you realize, the tuning of musical instruments results in harmony, not the opposite: tuning results in musical instruments in harmony, yes, of a tuning system, and, as a result, the tunings of musical instruments to harmony, yes, musical instruments in harmony, sound harmonious. Musical instruments are In Tune, or Out of Tune... with one, and more than one, of musical instruments tuned to the same tuning systems... tuned to measurable frequencies, Metaphysical measures as Forms, Ideas... of Metaphysical numbers... attributed to Pythagoras is the Statement All Things Are Number... in this case, a system, and a scale... Form, Idea, Order... are not merely unattainable Ideals, Form, Idea, Order... are attainable and attained... no Removes from Reality... Art does not imitate Idea... Order... Form, Idea from Order, and not merely Order... Numbers do not merely exist beyond Time and Space as written by Plato, as for Pythagoras, and for Pythagoreans, Number is The Nature of All Things... THE Ancient Greek Philosophers seem to contradict themselves, not merely each the other....
