Dorian is depressing? To me it projects more of a balanced-relatable, bluesy feel that is borderline sad (no wonder it's the Harmonic Center as Richard Merrick calls it, also it's the reflective axis on the piano). It's the brightest minor tonality.

Locrian is related to the Heavens and Buddha? For me the Heavens are Lydian and Buddha is Lydian Dominant, but again I'm not well versed in Buddhaism, just my impression. Locrian gives me the feeling of void.

I relate to the other adjectives you attach to modes.

What are your sources for the specific pitch associations?

I'm not referring to the modes or scales at all in my post.

    I listed the C Chromatic Scale - C C#/Db D D#/Eb E F F#/Gb G G#/Ab A A#/Bb B

The 12 Tone C Chromatic Scale.

    Or - The C Major Scale C D E F G A B - and a - C# Pentatonic Scale C#/Db D#/Eb F#/Gb G#/Ab A#/Bb

A 7 Note Major Scale and a 5 Tone Pentatonic Scale - that inter-lock - to make the 12 Tone C Chromatic Scale.

Every description for all of the twelve tones - are for each individual tone itself.

I use the mode name - when I use a mode name - to actually describe the individual tone itself - all by itself.

The individual tone C - Sounds Ionian - All by itself

The individual tone D - Sounds Dorian - All by itself

The individual tone E - Sounds Phyrgian - All by itself

The individual tone F - Sounds Lydian - All by itself

The individual tone G - Sounds Mixolydian - All by itself

The individual tone A - Sounds Aeolian - All by itself

The individual tone B - Sounds Locrian - All by itself

As well as - the other descriptions I have for each individual tone.

I am not describing modes or scales - I am describing each of the 12 Absolute Tones themselves.

I am using mode names to help describe the 12 individual tones themselves.

I am not describing modes or scales at all - I am describing each of the 12 Absolute Tones
