Classical music theory notation for chord inversions

Hi guys? I was trying to find (and I'm not sure if this is correct but) classical music theory notation for chord inversions? For instance, in classical music harmony analysis, how would the I chord be written in 1st and 2nd inversion?

    You're asking about "figured bass"
    1st inversion = 6/3, or just 6 for short
    2nd inversion = 6/4
Put the "I" in front if you want to indicate the harmonic function.
The figures usually go on top of one another, ie:

    6
    4

If the Roman numerals are written with capital letters then they indicate a Major Chord. If they are written in lower case letters then they indicate a minor chord.
