Hi guys,

Just thought I'd share this Nile Rodgers-inspired groove backing track, which is really handy for learning how to put the jazzy sounding Altered Scale to use - as a dominant function.

Instead of just staying on G Altered throughout, the track resolves to C minor, so you can play around with the tension/release...

Chord Progression:

II: Cm I G7alt :II

Cm9 chords -

You can use C Minor scale, C Dorian Mode, C Melodic Minor, C Minor Pentatonic/Blues Scale

G7alt -

G Altered Scale: G Ab Bb B Db Eb F (G)

G Altered Scale is also known as G Super Locrian - and it's the 7th mode of the Ab Melodic Minor Scale.

Have fun
