    Picking strokes for this sweep?

    Hello again

Can anyone advise me about the best way to pick this sweep i.e. which are downstrokes and upstrokes? I'm relatively new to sweeps. I adapted this one (probably a cliche sweep) from Marty Friedman. The problem is I can start on a downstroke, but on the second repeat I end up starting on an upstroke. I'm guessing two different picking patterns is not ideal (one for the first and a different one for the second repeat).

    Anyway, here it is....

    thanks

ps-I like it all picked, no pull-offs

I would play the lick like this:

    DUUU UDDD UDUU UDDD

It's not a problem with sweeping and economy picking, but of course you can start the lick with an upstroke if it bothers you.
