    acoustic info interest..

I belive some people had expressed an interest in some acoustic guitar techniques a while back.. I might have a chance to type up some lessons and other misc acoustic stuff for a big post this week so I was wondering if there is still and interest in this sort of thing before I type and tab it all up..
Topics I was considering for inclusion..
general mechanical considerations for acoustic (finger pressure, legato, arm positioning, getting good tone and attack) and converting shred technique over to acoustic..

gypsy jazz and swing three and four note comp chords (sound really cool on acoustic)

percussive and pseudo percussive licks and techniques..

exploitation of the open position and getting ringing and sustained notes into licks..

random examples from bluegrass, folk, jazz, and celtic styles..

maybe some general discussion of equipment and tone..

maybe and etude or two that sounds good on acoustic..

any suggestions? I'm open to anything..

All of that sounds awesome Wyll, really looking forward to it! Being a bebopper gypsy jazz really interests me just because I'm always hearing about how fast gypsy jazzers picked (and having seen Stochelo Rosenberg pick I know it's true). However I like all of the stuff you mentioned.

Exclamation HIGH ACOUSTIC INFO INTEREST DETECTED

    Wyll_Watts,

    this is all for me

    Especially:

    * general mechanical considerations for acoustic and converting shred technique over to acoustic..

    * exploitation of the open position and getting ringing and
    sustained notes into licks..

    * percussive and pseudo percussive licks and techniques..

I'll be glad to learn anything about acoustic cos I haven't had a formal training.

    Thanks in advance,
    Zatz.

    Talking interested

Ya, me too, i'm very interested. I would suggest including harp, touch, and other harmonic techniques to add to the articles. Also, the Thumb technique, man, i would love to see your shred articles for the acoustic.

    thanks.

    Wyll,
Sounds like you have enough material there for a full-fledged article, as opposed to just a mere post. You might consider approaching Guni about it.
    Cheers,
    Dan

P.S. Just make sure the article is full-fledged, we don't want any half-fledged articles round here.

    hey guys,

Glad to see there is some interest in this sort of thing. I started working on it last night. I have no idea how long it will take but I'm estimating about a week with my current schedule. If it seems to be taking too long I'll just post it in parts.

    Later,
    Wyll

    hey guys,

between working seven days a week, gigging and keeping my chops up I havn't worked on this as much as I had hoped.. but I am still working on it and it's not going to take forever or anything.. anyways, I appreciate your support and it's always fun to write about this sort of stuff... how would you guys like to view this stuff? would you prefer I post a big power tab and add all the comments and written sections in the post.. or would you like a Word document with all the writing with images placed in the document?

I vote for all in one doc. I'd rather have it all in one place. The only thing powertab has going for it is it's playback...I've never seen a sheet of music that played itself though
