Post What's the latest trends in music?

Hi, I am currently doing some assignments for school. Please help me find info about the latest trends in music right now, especially among teenagers. Can be anything, from the way they share music or the latest genres. Thanks

I've noticed that the 80's metal scene is making a huge comeback. However, some of those bands never slowed such as Maiden.

i agree, emo is taking the country by storm. I didn't even know about this until my nephew told me about it. Apparently its the new fad among kids.

I don't think this style ever really lost too much of its popularity.

I laughed my *** off at this - so amazingly true

I've definitely seen a lot of emo/indy as a popular trend, but I also agree that on the other side metal is making a definite comeback. I'm seeing a lot of thrash/melodic/symphonic lately. On the other hand, I think there is a lot of mixing of style going on in the electronic world with a lot of emphasis on analog synth (the Nord and MicroKorg sounds) being tweaked around with more traditional rock rhythms and purposefully overproduced - it's almost a sort of satirical pop-culture thing, which also bears a lot of 80s one-hit wonder influence.

This is a board full of guitar players. Your answers will be suspect.

Go to Billboard's website and see what people are spending money on. There will be your answer.

I hear Country is pretty big in the states. In my homeland Greece I can speak behalf the teenagers where things seem to be polarized; girls usually listen to pop and r'n'b and boys mostly classic metal or modern extreme metal genres.
