Hi, I'm just starting to learn to play on the electric and was just wondering what are your suggestions for fingerings on the higher octave because its hard to get 1-2-3-4 out of the spaces, but i'm pretty sure 1-2-3-4 would be the most versatile.

on bass we had an optional 1-2-4 fingering, but any help? thanks

I'm not entirely sure I understand your question, but I guess that you ask for how to finger scales in higher octave. If I were to play anything cromatic I'd probably play 1-2-3-4 fingering, but as you say it would be a bit crowdy. Normally you would play a scale like major, mixolydian or pentatonic, and they would all allow for more space. I would normally try to use the same fingering as I would do in lower octave, but I guess I would adjust to whatever feels ok.

Sorry this was not a very helpfull reply- Anyone have a more pedagogic approach?
