New member here !!!

Hi Guys !

Bit about myself :

Playing for 17 years (with a silly 5 year gap)
Lynch, De-Martini, Van Halen, Malmsteen amongst my favourites.
I use ESP Guitars through Engl amps.

Have recently started my own intensive practise routine (Wish I had done this in my early days !)

Min 2 hrs / day :

Comprised of alternate picking, legato, scale / modes.
Tremelo picking, slurs, trills, 1 string improvisation.
Vibrato - vertical and horizontal
blah, blah blah !

Looking for a recording device to lay some tracks down for improvisation. I have no PC access at home - bog standard tape recorder or a digital 4 track ?

What would you recommend ?

I don't want to spend too much - Ive just purchased a ESP Custom Shop - I'm pretty much out of cash !

Hey Daz, welcome to Ibreathe. About recording gear it all depends on what youre planning on recording for. If its just for your amusement and youre short in cash go for the tape. But if you want to record higher fidelity stuff, for demos and such id definitely spend the extra cash on a digital recorder, the advantages are endless...(and im going to avoid getting into the analog vs. digital sound disussion) the non-destructive editing, easy punching, mixing and mastering, etc etc etc.

So well, it all depends on what you want it for. ANd congratulations on your new ESP.
