To be honest I was afraid of this book. Mick Goodrick!, one of the highest acclaimed jazz musicians on the planet. Will I understand what he is talking about?
What happened was that I read the whole book in one afternoon, without a break and without touching my guitar once.
I was fascinated by Mick's honesty and clarity in explaining his guitar approach. But it's much more than a guitar book. It offers you a view behind the scenes.
Mick writes about those ups and downs that you run into as a musician and as a human being, and shows ways to deal with them.
Even if you would not take a look at the guitar specific chapters this book is of great value to every growing musician.
Bottom Line
Highly recommended; this book makes you think!
Be prepared for a lot of input and don't expect a traditional guitar method.
