    Guitar Intervals

Hi guys? I had found this great article on Intervals. I had seem to lost the website, but lucky I had saved the article on my computer. Here is what was written in the article.

    Intervals
The key is to identify the intervals in each mode, diatonic and non diatonic, and to know those intervals all over the neck.

    Ionian mode
    Intervals: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8
    Non diatonic: b2, b3, b5, b6, b7

    Dorian mode
    Intervals: 1, 2, b3, 4, 5, 6, b7, 8
    Non diatonic: b2, 3, b5, b6, 7

    Phrygian mode
    Intervals: 1, b2, b3, 4, 5, b6, b7, 8
    Non diatonic: 2, 3, b5, 6, 7

    Lydian mode
    Intervals: 1, 2, 3, #4, 5, 6, 7, 8
    Non diatonic: b2, b3, 4, b6, b7

    Mixolydian
    Intervals: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, b7, 8
    Non diatonic: b2, b3, b5, b6, 7

    Aeolian
    Intervals: 1, 2, b3, 4, 5, b6, b7, 8
    Non diatonic: b2, 3, b5, 6, 7

    Locrian
    Intervals: 1, b2, b3, 4, b5, b6, b7, 8
    Non diatonic: 2, 3, 5, 6, 7

Since I had discovered this, my guitar playing knowledge has increased. I had learn to play interesting lines, by trying different diatonic and non diatonic intervals. For instance, I had tried playing Phrygian with a natural 3rd in it and boy, did it sounded nice!

Don't waste time learning intervals. Master scale degrees.

In music theory, an interval is the space between any two pitches. On guitar, it's simply space between any two notes on the fretboard.
